HR Assistant
Location: Anchorage, Alaska (In-Office)
Reports to: People Development Coordinator
Employment Type: Part-time with potential for full-time


Overview:

Peak Trust Company is seeking a detail-oriented and people-focused HR Assistant to support both talent acquisition and broader human resources operations. This role plays a key part in delivering a positive candidate and employee experience by assisting with recruitment, onboarding, records management, and day-to-day HR administrative tasks. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and passionate about contributing to a strong team culture. Based on evolving business needs, this position has the potential to transition into a full-time role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding Support:
    Assist with job postings, candidate communication, interview coordination, and onboarding logistics to ensure a smooth and professional experience for all applicants and new hires.

  • Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Management:
    Maintain accurate candidate records, improve system workflows, and support reporting and compliance within the ATS.

  • HR Administration:
    Maintain employee records, assist with background checks and employment verifications, and support HR reporting, audits, and compliance tracking.

  • Benefits & General Support:
    Provide administrative support for benefits-related tasks, respond to employee inquiries, and assist with internal communications and engagement initiatives.


Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of experience in HR, recruiting, or administrative support preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Experience using an applicant tracking system (ATS) or HR software is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with candidates and hiring teams professionally.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and general comfort with HR technology.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
